Project highlight: Support officer at a captive lease company

We would like to share some details of a recent project at a captive lease company: one of our finance consultants started working there as a Support Officer.*

The assignment: research financial data

A captive lease company works with automobile leasing within a specific brand. The company had a need for financial support. Our finance consultant jumped in and enhanced their customer fiches up-to-date with actual information. With certain adjustments, like a management adjustment, the application for a credit had to be considered extra carefully. Thanks to this valuable input, colleagues from the financial department were able to handle the file smoothly.

The tasks: collect and verify

As a Support Officer, it was up to our finance consultant to collect and upload the correct financial information so that credits could be granted. Identity card, pay slips, driver’s license… Was there any missing information? He then consulted, among others, the dealer and/or accountant involved. He then had to verify the company data. Via the Crossroads Bank for Enterprises and Graydon reports, among others, our finance consultant checked whether everything was 100% correct. He passed on relevant changes in the past six months, for example in address or director, to his manager. When the credit decision was made, he communicated the decision to the parties involved. He also supported the credit underwriting team. For example, he spoke to both sellers and customers with questions, by telephone or e-mail.

The competences: caution first

As a Support Officer, our finance consultant was constantly in contact with sensitive financial information: it was crucial that he handled this with the utmost discretion. The leasing company also asked for a finance consultant with an analytical mindset, who is strong in agenda management. All expectations that were met! Finally, some technical terms were mainly communicated in French, where his solid basic knowledge came in handy.
