Project highlight: International account officer at a large insurance company

The projects of our finance consultants can take many forms. What specific tasks do they take on? We would like to give you an insight into one of our assignments. For the sake of sensitivity, we’ll keep it anonymous. Our consultant strengthened the team of an insurance company as International Account Officer. A selection of his to do’s and the necessary competences!

The assignment: data wizard at an insurance company

The company offers various insurance policies: car insurance, hospitalization insurance, fire insurance, etc. Group insurance also falls within its range. To this end, it joins forces with a pool of national and international insurance companies. As International Account Officer, our consultant was tasked with managing the contracts, more specifically: collecting, verifying and testing the realized data against the intended results. Based on this, he compiled clear datasets, in order to subsequently make the settlement. The calculation is automated, but a manual check should never be missed. In this way he avoided human errors being overlooked, or sudden deaths missing from the results.

The tasks: from collection to analysis

Our finance consultant committed to bundling all data smoothly, always with the necessary discretion for sensitive medical and/or financial information. He also took into account both domestic and foreign planning. Afterwards, he took a close look at the data. He filtered data from the list that did not fit the bill. During his project he gradually took on more complex calculations: from health insurance to employee benefits. Thanks to the excellent support of an International Account Officer, the finance team was able to accurately present its figures to its end customers.

The competences: strong in numbers

His working days were completely interspersed with data: our finance consultant’s strong analytical skills were therefore self-evident. He handled the data with caution and discretion. In addition, he had extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel, specifically pivot tables, and effortlessly managed his own planning. Finally, his basic knowledge of French came in handy as an International Account Officer: some technical terms were only discussed in French.
